The city is gradually building a comprehensive international education system, led by Forest City International School (FCIS). American K–12, with US and UK Pathways

Forest City International School is an American-system K–12 boarding school, providing a complete Pre-K to Grade 12 education for students aged 3–18. Its curriculum is based on the US Common Core State Standards, with Advanced Placement (AP) courses in high school and the CATS University Foundation Programme (UFP). It is the only international school in Johor Bahru offering both US and UK pathways, giving students greater flexibility in university progression.

Advanced Placement (AP)

AP offers flexible individual subject choices based on students' interests, abilities and university goals, emphasising depth of study and university-level learning. Results in selected AP courses may qualify for university credit, helping students prepare for higher education and strengthen their applications.

CATS University Foundation Programme

The CATS UFP spans one to two academic years, combining core academic modules, English skills and subject preparation through examinations, coursework and practical projects. Tailored to students' intended degrees and destinations, it supports progression to undergraduate study in the UK, Europe, Australia and beyond.
